Our weekly classes invite you to tap into the meditative side of drumming for wellness. Connect with a wonderful Miami drum community when you join our beginners or advanced classes.
INTRODUCTION TO HAND DRUMMING CLASS SERIES
Learn the basics of hand drumming through a six-week Introduction to Hand Drumming Program. You'll learn to play the Djembe drum while exploring traditional and non-traditional rhythms from around the world.
This class helps students develop a powerful cultivation practice around drumming that nurtures a personal meditation and wellness practice. This course focused on the rudiments for developing a drumming practice and explores the do's and don't's of drumming etiquette.
The initial Introduction to Hand Drumming program lasts for 6 weeks. Once you have completed the series, you can continue coming to weekly classes at a discounted drop-in rate $25 per class. No prior experience is necessary, however, participants must use their own hand drum. Jared will have sample drums for the first class and can help you find a drum with a local drum builder.
If you are an experienced drummer, there is a single-session drop-in ticket available.
By joining this powerful drumming community, you will have opportunities to play at live wellness and music events with the South Beach Sound Healing Orchestra.

ADVANCED DRUM CLASS
Upon learning the basics of djembe drumming, students may transition into the Advanced Drum Class.
Learners focus on:

Perfecting their drumming techniques

Learning more complex rhythms

How to solo within a group framework
Class participants are invited to play at live wellness and music events with the South Beach Sound Healing Orchestra. Jared determines when students are ready to transition into this class.
